SUMMARY:Echoes of Mill Creek: Reflecting on a Lost Neighborhood
DESCRIPTION:Join the REDI (Racial Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) Committee for a meaningful afternoon at the Missouri History Museum on Sunday, June 7.\nWe will begin promptly at 2 p.m. in the AT&T Multipurpose Room with a presentation by Gwen Moore, former Mill Creek resident and curator of Mill Creek: Black Metropolis. This powerful exhibit explores the rich history of Mill Creek Valley, a once-thriving center of Black life in St. Louis from the early 1900s until its destruction in 1959 in the name of urban renewal.\nFollowing the presentation, participants are invited to enjoy a self-guided exploration of the exhibit until the museum closes at 5 p.m.\nAfterward, those who are interested are welcome to continue the conversation over dinner at a nearby restaurant.\nSpace is limited, so please RSVP by Friday, May 29 ( https://congregationshaareemeth.shulcloud.com/form/echoes-of%20mill-creek.html ).\n
