Unpacking the Headlines from Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank
A Conversation with Elisheva Goldberg
The headlines from Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank continue to shift rapidly, reflecting both heartbreaking realities and glimmers of hope. Just days ago, Israel and Hamas agreed to the first phase of a U.S.-brokered peace plan that includes a ceasefire, the release of hostages and prisoners, and a partial withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. While this agreement offers a much-needed pause in violence and a pathway toward humanitarian relief, many critical questions remain unanswered—including the future governance of Gaza, the rights of Palestinians, and the long-term prospects for peace and justice in the region.
Meanwhile, violence in the West Bank continues, democratic institutions within Israel face internal challenges, and voices advocating for a peaceful, democratic future for both Israelis and Palestinians grow louder.
To help us make sense of these developments and what they mean for the future, we invite you to join us for a timely and insightful conversation with Elisheva Goldberg, Deputy VP of Communications & Policy at the New Israel Fund.
