This event has been canceled. Please join us instead on October 18 – click here for details.
Sunday, October 4 | 9:15–10:45 a.m.
How do Israeli elections actually work? What are Israelis voting for when they go to the polls? How do political parties and coalitions work, and how is a government formed?
Dr. Ayala Hendin, an Israel Studies scholar who has served as an Israel Fellow at Washington University in St. Louis, and who is currently affiliated with Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and the Van Leer Institute, will give us the background we need to understand Israel’s parliamentary system, the election process, and the issues shaping the conversation in Israel.
No expertise in Israeli politics is needed—just curiosity and a desire to better understand what is happening in Israel.
